"What are the best exercises for building lean muscle?"

The most common answer to that question is,  "Stick to the 'BIG' lifts; squats, deadlifts, and bench press."

These exercises simultaneously work multiple large muscle groups,  creating significant physical demands on the body. This in turn, causes your body to adapt (grow) to meet those demands, assuming proper nutrition and rest is provided.

So while the most common reply to that question may sound simplistic, it's accurate.  The majority of new trainees would do well to focus on the basics, forgetting the never ending sets of concentration curls.

But here's some food for thought...
