If you want to get lean, improve your health and avoid the alarming number of additives that are now found in many foods in our grocery stores, you need to follow some simple but important guidelines.

What should be a straight forward process often leads to confusion when checking labels and so forth. So check out the 8 step guide below and you'll instantly shoot the top of the class amongst your friends when it comes to being a healthy shopper.

Tip #1. Read Nutrition Labels & Figuring Out Fat Percentages..

It's crucially important to read nutrition labels carefully.

If a product gives a percentage of fat by weight, be warned - this product likely contains more fat than you bargained for.

To figure out the percent fat, just multiply the grams of fat per serving by 9 calories per gram and then divide that number by the calories per serving. If it's 20% or higher, put that food back on the self.
