Today's "Ask Lee", comes from Alison S, Canada.
Hi, I'm trying to lose my tummy fat and area under my arms in time for my wedding. Weight loss is going well but I do feel hungry a lot of the time, do you have advice on how to curb hunger or any supplements that I can take to feel less hungry?
I'm currently following the advice on your burn fat and tone up page in the goals section.
Thank you in advance for your time.

Hi Alison, I'm glad our "Burn Fat And Tone Up" section  has proven useful.

When you're used to eating more, going on a lower calorie diet can produce hunger, which is an annoying side effect. But, if you follow my fat loss tips below, you'll enjoy much better odds of keeping the hunger at bay.

1. Choose Nutritionally Dense Foods!

Make Smart Food Choices.

When people tell me they are constantly hungry on a diet, I review their diet, and almost without exception, it boils down to making poor food choices.

Cut out all processed, high fat, high carb foods. It's that simple, you don't have enough calories to play with on a fat loss diet, to be wasting them on processed high calorie foods. When you're in a caloric restriction, the worst thing you can choose are foods which don't make you feel full but contain a lot of calories. Almost all processed foods are devoid of quality nutrients.

Choose nutritionally dense, low calorie foods which take longer to eat and provide bulk and fiber with very few calories. In other words, eat a lot of vegetables and salad. If you follow this tip alone, you'll kill off most of your hunger pangs.

2. Drink lots of water.
Drink water throughout the day to keep yourself hydrated. Dehydration can lead to false hunger pangs. Adequate water intake can make you're appetite feel more satiated also.

3. Chew slowly and often.
Again, another simple tip but one that works well. Many people eat so quickly, they don't allow the brain time to signal the stomach that it's full. You'll be amazed how easy it is to eat less when you chew each mouthful slowly. Not only will you eat less, but you'll stimulate digestive enzymes in the process , which help to digest your food.

Which Looks More Filling?

4. Use a smaller plate.
Don't place a small amount of food on a huge plate. it has the effect of making you think you're being under fed. Instead use smaller plates. You'll immediately feel like you're eating a bigger meal. Don't underestimate the power your mind plays in sticking to your weight loss goal.

5. Eat lots of Protein.
Protein makes you feel more satiated than carbohydrates and fats on a calorie-for-calorie basis. Even better, it takes more energy to digest protein rich foods, meaning you get to burn more calories. , just to digest the protein you ate.

6. Ditch dressings and carbonated drinks.
People are often stunned how many calories can slip in from what seems to be a seemingly innocuous amount of salad dressing; you can easily add 100 calories in 1 tablespoon. Try that twice a day for a week and you've added over 1,500 calories to your diet -- not good.

Supplements such as Garcinia Cambogia can help curb your appetite and increases fat burning, both of which you'll find helpful. Supplements will help, but overall, the most important factor is applying the tips I've shared above.

I hope that helps, Alison, you'll be amazed how much easier getting in shape becomes when you follow these golden rules.

Until next time,  stay healthy and strong.
