Kelsey Byers
By Lee Labrada

In today's Lean Body Coaching newsletter, our focus is all about making smart food choices, both at home and importantly, when out socializing.

Take a look at Team Labrada athlete, Kelsey Byers (right).

You would scarcely believe it to look at her now, but in just over two years at college,  primarily due to a penchant for restaurant food, Kelsey gained over 50 lbs.

As you can see, Kelsey now sports an envious figure and today she's revealing the culinary tips and food choices, that allowed her to drop 50 lbs and 10 dress sizes.

Today's Recipe : Supercharged Guacamole & Lime Crisps

Guacamole & Lime Crisps.

One area where healthy alternatives to full-fat foods are lacking is with snacks or appetizers. We're social creatures by nature and, more often than not, friendly gatherings involve food.

To help add variety, great taste and healthfulness to the menu, I thought to come up with a lightened up version of traditional guacamole and tortilla chips that will satisfy even the pickiest of fitness disciples.

This version tastes great, and delivers 15 grams of protein per serving with 11 grams of healthy fats.

Today's "Ask Lee"  :  Exercising After An Accident.

 By Lee Labrada

Today's "Ask Lee", comes from Justine F, Justine asks:

Hello Lee :)

How is better to take supplements: as tablets, in powder or liquid? Does taking numerous pills overwork the liver?

Hi Justine, the method by which we consume our supplements determines how quickly they digest and absorb.

Liquid will be released into our systems immediately and absorb the fastest. Drink a liquid supplement like Charge! Supershots and you'll feel the effects near instantly.

This is also part of the science behind consuming a liquid protein shake such as ProV60 or ISO Lean Pro right after your workout.

ISO Lean Pro
Perfect For Post Workout

The recovery and regrowth process is able to begin almost immediately compared to a chicken breast, as you're minimizing the duration of the digestion process.

Next to liquid is the capsule, or gel cap.  Gel caps, such as Lean Body Gold EFA's, contain liquid, and capsules such as Raspberry Ketones , contain powder.  Once the outer layer has digested, the inside absorbs right away.

Finally, tablets are the slowest to enter the system.  Many time released medications come in tablets for that reason.

Often high quality, whole food vitamins will come in this form as well.

As you can see, it is not a matter of which is "better" as such, simply what's optimal.

Thank you for writing in Justine, I hope this helps!

Until next time,  stay healthy and strong.
