“Words Beneath Wings” ~ WALK THE TALK

Walk the Talk

by Lauren Christine Frahn

It is one thing to speak of all of the incredible things that you intend to do with your life and all of the dreams that you are going to pursue…it is quite another to actually go for them. If given a hypothetical situation, you know exactly what you would do in order to create the most ideal outcome, for the highest good of all involved, but in a real-life scenario, would your actions follow suit?

You know in your heart what the proper way to act toward others is, but do your actions reflect that kindness? The question that I challenge you to ask yourself is…Are you “WALKING YOUR TALK?”…

Wisdom is knowing what to do next; virtue is doing it. –David Star Jordan-

Can you walk around with your head held high? There is no better feeling than to be able to start your day knowing that whatever comes your way, you are going to handle it in the best possible manner, no matter what. I am not stating this with the claim that this is always easy to do…Believe me, I have my moments of “counting to ten”. However, the most important thing is what you do after you get to ten. Be sure to act in a way that you will look back on with a smile…

“If we are ever in doubt about what to do, it is a good rule to ask ourselves what we shall wish on the morrow that we had done.”

–John Lubbock-

When thinking about this, I want to take it one step further. It does not count to simply “put on a show” in front of others. You may fool a person or two…for a limited amount of time at that…but you can never fool yourself. The true test of your integrity is the way that you behave and what your actions are when no one else is around. Just because you convince others that you are worthy of respect, but behave differently without an audience, still leaves you lacking in the self-respect category. For me, as long as I know in my heart that I do right for others and by others, that is what truly counts…

“Dignity consists not in possessing honors, but in the consciousness that we deserve them.”

“A man has to live with himself, and he should see to it that he always has good company.”

-Charles Evan Hughes-

Stay motivated! 🙂

A special additional quote for all of my dog lovers:

“My goal in life is to be as good of a person my dog already thinks I am.”
