“DROP THE NEW YEAR’S “BALL”? PICK IT BACK UP!”
by Lauren Christine Frahn
Now that everyone has made some pretty amazing resolutions, there is absolutely NO way in the world that you would ever dream about NOT following through EACH and EVERY day! There is NO possibility that you might happen to “slip” up! There is NOT even the SLIGHTEST chance that you might have an “OFF” day, right?? WRONG!! You are human! IT IS OKAY! I repeat, IT IS PERFECTLY OKAY…and NORMAL! 🙂 There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with you. Where the problem occurs is in thinking that you completely “blew it” because of an occasional “off-track” moment, throwing your hands up in despair, and GIVING UP. Labrada fans, those words should never be allowed in your vocabulary!
The idea is not to strive for complete and total PERFECTION…believe me, NONE of us will EVER get there! Just look to make gradual PROGRESS each and every day! If you happen to go off your diet or skip a day at the gym (that was not scheduled to be a REST day for muscle recovery :)), it does not mean that all bets are off! Again, this is not about extremes, but rather slow and steady ADVANCEMENT forward! So you take one step back? Take one-and-a-half steps forward and guess who is RIGHT back on track! That’s right ~ YOU ARE!
Okay, so now that the “NEW YEAR’S EVE” ball has officially dropped, what should you do if YOU should happen to “drop” your own proverbial “ball”? PICK IT RIGHT BACK UP! Do not start the cycle of beating yourself up, making yourself feel badly, which causes you to lose motivation and self-esteem, and ultimately prolongs the amount of time that you are off the path to your goal. Put in a little bit more effort during your next workout…or use a little bit more will power at the sight of your next temptation…and do not worry! Give yourself a huge PAT ON THE BACK for STICKING WITH YOUR GOAL! You got this, guys (and gals)! Remember, you are becoming a LEAN MACHINE in 2013!! Now, cut yourself some slack and KEEP UP your GREAT WORK!! 😉
BEST WISHES and BLESSINGS!
DREAM. INSPIRE. MOTIVATE. ENCOURAGE.
Stay motivated! 🙂
