You are now in the second week of your challenge. You may have lost some weight, you may not. What is really important here is to stay motivated and focused on your primary goal. Finishing the Challenge.
Deciding to enter the Challenge is maybe one of the most important decisions of your life. You’ve chosen to be healthier, and probably live longer. For me, the Challenge was my chance to get my life back after a treatment for throat cancer.
How did I stay motivated for last year’s Challenge? It was simple – I made a plan, on paper, for how many pounds I wanted to lose during the Challenge. I structured my meal plan and my workout plan so that they fit into my busy schedule. I kept my plan simple. I don’t like it when things are too complicated – life is better when it is simple.
The first week I didn’t lose any weight. I didn’t panic, and I kept doing the same things the following week. That week I lost 2 pounds. I remember because I wrote everything down, and now I can look back to see what I did. Keeping a journal for my nutrition and workout was perfect for me. That kept me on track, and there’s no better way to motivate yourself than when you see the progress on your weight loss.
I stayed motivated during the Lean Body Challenge by focusing on the positive things in my life. Things like the birth of my first child only 4 months before I started the Challenge, and that I was cancer free for few months.
My advice to you in the Challenge this year? Consistency is the key to your success.
Keep at it!
