2015…Is This Your Year?

My question to you is, is this YOUR year? Is this year going to be the same old routine of setting new goals only to let them fall to the side after a few short weeks? Do many of you even make it a few weeks? Some people can’t make it one week, yet alone set some new continuity to their life. You have to be honest with yourself for starters, and you have to make your goals achievable. Don’t set out to conquer a 5k if you haven’t even finished 1 mile. Don’t look to lose 50 lbs., until you have reached the 5lb. mark. These are goals that must be slowly worked on to get to that final destination we long to conquer. You have to become mentally strong to change the normalcies that you are accustomed to. It will not be easy. It is going to be difficult, and for some of you, it is going to be unbearable. It will probably be the worst hell you have ever put yourself through. But mentally you have to go to that place, and be prepared to give it all you have, day in and day out.

Once you start to break down the walls of insecurities and doubts, you will be on the right path to accomplishing something you never thought possible. It doesn’t matter how long it takes you to achieve success, it only matters that you NEVER give in, or give up. If it was easy to obtain that six-pack of abs you are longing for, then why haven’t seen them yet? You know the answer. It’s tough. If sculpting out a perfect physique was simple, you would see EVERYONE strutting along with one. You have to work at it. You have to be committed. You have to be prepared to go the distance. I challenge all of you to make one positive change in your life. Make it attainable, but also make it something you need to work at.

The Lean Body Challenge is upon us, and there will be many competitors who will finish, and some that will give up. I personally challenge you to finish this challenge. Make a change in your life. This is the year to put an end to all of those excuses that have been holding you back! One day at a time, one meal at a time. Challenge yourself. Make that transformation! Stay committed. It doesn’t matter if you win the entire challenge or just complete it. This is something you need to do for yourself. You need to show yourself that you can mentally set a goal and accomplish it. This is YOUR year! This is the year you start to make all of your dreams come true. This is the year you prove to yourself and others that YOU can do it. A body transformation is one of the hardest goals to achieve, but also the most satisfying! Become that champion that I know you are! Reach for the stars! Make that life transformation now. Once you achieve one goal, you will have the power, dedication, and confidence to set out and conquer a new hurdle that stands in your way. This is your moment…

Mike is a United States Air Force veteran  (1997-2001) who works as a Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Tech) during the day, and is a busy husband and father of two during the night.
