Sandy Grant is Excited to Contribute to The Labrada Blog!

Hello Everyone!  My name is Sandy Grant, and I am VERY excited to be part of Lee Labrada’s Bodybuilding Nutrition Blog!  I’ve been a loyal consumer (& Fan!) of Labrada Nutrition for the past 10 years.  I was given the opportunity of promoting Labrada products during my first year of fitness competitions and saw the benefits of living and eating a balanced and healthy lifestyle through nutrition & supplementation.

Back Ground:  IFBB Fitness Professional, Full Time Executive Assistant, SG2Victory Fitness/Figure Coach and Seattle Mist LFL Football Player!  It does sound like I’m a little busy…but I love every minute of it.  I enjoy Promotional Modeling & am a Ring Card Girl at MMA & Boxing Fights as well.

I turned IFBB Fitness Professional at the 2003 USA Fitness Championships.  In 2007 my sister Shannon Gill and I officially launched SG2Victory.  SG2Victory is a non-exclusive Fitness, Figure & Bikini team. We provide posing, contest prep and help all new & veteran physique Athletes! Shannon is a Certified Personal Trainer & Sports Nutritionist, NPC Judge and a Fitness/Figure Coach. You can find more SG2Victory information on Shannon’s site. .

On April 22, 2009 I made the Seattle Mist LFL Football tryouts & will be on the official roster!  Starting in September 2009 I’ll be playing 7 on 7 tackle football!  The team is made up of a wide range of athletes; former Volleyball players, Kick-boxers, Tennis, Soccer, Softball & Rugby Players, Fitness/ Figure Competitors and even a Cirque du Soleil performer.  My training & conditioning will be similar but a lot more intense than when I train for fitness competitions…it will be fun, new & exciting!  Check back soon for new updates to the Seattle Mist Website.

My love for fitness first started as a teen. I was very active in sports, softball, track and any outside activity. In High School I was the Co-Captain on the Dance Drill Team.  I loved to perform!  When I was not practicing my routines or creating my own workouts at home you could always find me watching the Fitness America, Cheer & Aerobics competitions on ESPN.  I was so fascinated by the talent & physiques of the competitors that I continued to follow the Fitness Competitions in the magazines after High School.  I also hit the gym regularly to stay fit and athletic.  After a couple years I knew I was ready to take my physique to that next level and compete.

In April of 1999, I went to my first NPC Fitness Competition, the Emerald Cup in Bellevue, WA.  I knew of a couple girls who were competing in it so I was pretty excited to watch.  Right then and there I decided that this is what I wanted to do! 5 months later, September 1999 I competed in my first fitness competition, placed 2nd, and then one week later I competed in the Washington State Ironman Fitness Show and won the overall! From that point on I was hooked on Fitness….and still going! Since my last Pro Fitness Show I have been guest performing at multiple local and Regional NPC Championship Shows and continue helping up and coming Athletes prepare for their competitions.
