The word discipline can have a very negative meaning. After all, growing up we got “disciplined” when we did something wrong. But discipline is simply training.
Add the word self in front of discipline and it takes on a powerful new meaning. Self discipline is training yourself. So you can improve. So you can get better and grow into the person you were meant to be.
I find that when the winds of change come and everything seems to be going wrong, it is disciple that will turn the tide for you. Since we are body, mind and spirit it makes sense that we should have disciplines that strengthen these 3 key areas.
- Discipline yourself to eat and exercise properly.
- Discipline yourself to keep your mind positive and thinking about the pure, the good, and the uplifting.
- Discipline yourself to feed your spirit.
I’ve always believed that if you could find out the disciplined habits of the physically, mentally and spiritually fit and apply those disciplines to your life and you will get similar results. I have been studying the first two for over 30 years and the last one for almost 15 years and I am still learning and growing.
I am an avid reader. I am always willing to reach out an get information from those who know about the topic I am learning. I want to glean as much information from successful and brilliant people as I can. In fact, just last week I was picking Lee’s brain with regards to training and nutrition. Be a success detective, hunt down the disciplines or habits others are implementing and implement them in your own life.
What would happen to your life if you replaced just five limiting habits with five empowering habits every year? How about ten? Change your habits and transform your life. It all begins with discipline.
Question: Do you have any disciplines that help you that you would like to share with others? Post them so everyone can grow!
