The Top Exercises To Lose Belly Fat

The Top Exercises To Lose Belly Fat

by Martin Bolduc

Putting together a weight loss workout program? If so, it’s important to get the top exercises to lose belly fat in there.  It’s important that you do remember that not every type of exercise is created equally and some will be far more effective at helping you lose belly fat than others, so by creating a program that contains only the most fat loss promoting movements, you’re really going to see your results skyrocket.

Let’s have a quick look at the top exercises to lose belly fat to get you started.

Squats

Often called the ‘king’ of lower body movements, the squat is definitely one of the exercises to lose belly fat that must be in your program.  It’s going to work the quads, hamstrings, glutes, as well as the core and all the muscles running along the spinal cord, really allowing you to burn up a maximum number of calories.

Squats are also ideal for those who are looking to build lower body power as well, so that’s yet another reason to add them to your training program.

Deadlifts

Second on our list of exercises to lose belly fat are deadlifts.  This is yet another lower body exercise that is going to work the hamstrings, glutes, as well as the core and since it is working so many muscle fibers at once, will really stimulate maximum fat loss.

Just watch when performing both squats and deadlifts on the same day because since these are both such intense movements you may find that the body has a very hard time recovering from them.

Usually it’s best to split them up over two lower body workouts so you can work as hard as possible on each one.

Burpees

Third up for exercises to lose belly fat are burpees.  These are great since they will work the lower body as well as the upper body and due to the fact that you must contract the body inwards when in the crouched position, you’ll also really stimulate the abdominal core as well.

This exercise is also going to get your heart rate up considerably and that too will help burn off more calories and shed the belly fat.

Kettelbell Swings

Finally, the last exercise to lose belly fat that you should consider is kettlebell swings.  Kettlebells are one of the newer trends to really come into mainstream fitness and are offering promising results.

Kettlebell swings will again have you moving through such a large range of movement that you’ll be upping your calorie burning, increasing the amount of lean muscle mass stimulation, and taking your results to a whole new level.

Be sure when performing this exercise that you do maintain the tightness in the core however to not only prevent yourself from experiencing injury but to also increase the rate at which you make progress.

So keep these exercises to lose belly fat in mind.  Most importantly when assessing any movement you want to consider how many calories it’s going to burn while doing it. Since losing belly fat does come down to how large of a calorie deficit you create, this will determine your results.

Well obviously, I think these exercises are only for men. Can you also give advices for women who wants to lose belly fat? Thanks! More power to you.

    Hi Mary,

I don’t know any exercises specifically for men or woman. I train a lot of woman and they all do those exercises. When it’s time to burn calories and lose body fat it’s all come to the same things: Intensity, Compound Exercises, Good Form.

The difference between a man and a women will be the load. You can perform a barbel squat with a lighter weight (make sure the weight is challenging and you keep a good form during the exercise).

Next time you visit your gym, try one or two of these exercises and send me another comment. I want to see how you found your new exercises.

I hope it’s help and if you have any other questions let me know

Regarding these exercises, how many reps would you recommend a person do, please? Usually I stick to 10 X 3, but can I do more to loss that unwanted belly fat?
    Cheers!
