Question of the day: “How often do you have cheat meals?”

For the last three-four weeks, I have cut out cheat meals. I have a shoot coming up and I want to look my best.
My definition of a cheat meal has certainly changed the last few years.
My husband and I used to have a CHEAT DAY! Whoa- it made us feel sick. Plus, we weren’t getting the results we wanted, even though we worked out 5-6 days a week.
Then, we changed to a cheat meal every week and would go to Sonic and get a burger with tater tots or go eat mexican food. That would have been fine, only we weren’t eating the right portions during the week, so we still didn’t see the results we wanted.
Finally we hired our nutritionist and cut our cheat meals back to once every two weeks.
This saved us money from going out to eat and we quickly saw the results we wanted!
These days, if I want something “cheat-like,” it’s frozen yogurt (fat free with no sugar added) OR a couple of rice cakes with natural crunchy PB OR sushi with brown rice.
My version of a cheat meal didn’t change over night….by changing my habits, my cravings slowly changed. 🙂
When it comes down to it, WHEN you can change the way you think about food, you CAN go without cheat meals. It’s fuel, not entertainment or something to make you feel comforted when stressed.
When I changed my view on food, my world completely changed!
Your mind controls your body! 🙂 At the end of the day, moderation is key. Find your balance so you don’t feel restricted.
