Taking Response-ability for Greater Results
It’s a common thing these days to hear people complaining about how out of control their life feels.
“I can’t believe this is happening to me!” This is all too often our default setting. And it makes us feel sorry for ourselves. It makes us feel like victims.
It’s true that you don’t always have control over the things that happen to you or the circumstances surrounding your life.
But, you do have control over how you respond. You DO have control over what you think, what you say and what you do in response to circumstances and factors outside you. That can be a very empowering thought.
The dictionary defines responsibility as “having the duty to deal with something.”
I believe that responsibility should be spelled “Response-ability” and also defined as your ability to respond to something. I believe you not only have the duty to respond to things, but you also possess the ability to respond.
You have the freedom to choose how you respond to things in your life. That includes working out and taking care of yourself.
If you are currently out of shape, or not in the shape you’d like to be, you can respond by not doing anything at all. That’s not going to make you feel very good about yourself and could lead to serious health and personal issues.
Or you can take control and Respond by taking action. You can put yourself on a good nutritional program, and you can start working out. In either case you’re in control.
It’s your choice.

Our greatest ability as humans is response-ability. This week, take control. Put response-ability to work for you. Choose those areas of your exercise and diet program that need work, then exercise your freedom to respond to and take positive action to get you closer to the goals you want to achieve!
