If you're looking for an advanced biceps routine to stimulate new growth, then today's featured article fits the bill.

This High-Intensity-Training (HIT) program focusses on selecting just one exercise per point of flexion for the biceps and working it to complete failure throughout a full range of motion.

Initially, this program could be mistaken for a low volume biceps routine, but I assure you that by the end of your workout your biceps will be crying for mercy!

Guest author, fitness expert and bodybuilder, Johnathan Lawson, shares the optimal exercises for each point of flexion and explains exactly how to maximize the effects of this high intensity training technique.

If you've been a subscriber of the Lean Body Coaching newsletter for some time you'll already know I'm a big fan of seafood - especially shrimp.

Shrimp is  packed with protein, over 20 grams in every 3 ½ ounce serving. It also contains a healthy dose of Omega-3 fatty acids, which decreases the risk of heart disease and aid in fat loss.

Today's recipe is a delicious blend of spices, coconut milk, pineapple juice and shrimp providing a mouthwatering meal you can enjoy at any time of day,
with your choice of salad.

Whey also raises your body's natural levels of glutathione, this antioxidant is responsible for proper immune system function.

Can Whey Protein Help Me Lose Fat?

Our "Ask Lee" today comes from Deanna P. SF. USA.

Hello Lee,

I train 4 days a week with weights and have been taking Whey Protein before and after I train to repair my muscles and fuel growth. I read in a magazine that Whey can actually aid in fat loss.

I was under the impression Whey had no thermogenic effects, how can this be so?

Thank you for your fantastic informative website, I have learned so much from the free articles on the blog.

Deanna

Hello Deanna, thank you for your e-mail.

It's true, Whey doesn't assist fat loss via the same methods that thermogenic supplements do. However, recent studies point to its effectiveness in burning fat via other pathways.

This is primarily because Whey has been shown to decrease hunger and stimulate hormones that positively afect your metabolic rate.

A study by Willborn C et al, looked at strength training athletes' post workout nutrition protocol. During the study, half the group took whey protein after their workouts and the other half took a casein supplement.

The Whey group lost more body fat, gained more muscle and increased their strength across the board compared to the group which ingested a casein based product.

So yes, the answer is that a quality Whey protein can assist in fat loss amongst numerous other benefits.

One of the other great benefits of Whey is its ability to increase glutathione, which is a powerful antioxidant.

Our ISO Lean Pro is an excellent choice. It's very low in calories, contains zero lactose, sugar and gluten, yet provides over 50 grams of the highest quality Whey protein isolate per serving.

Our customers report fantastic results from consistent use.
