Super Bowl Game Bodybuilding Friendly Recipe – Buffalo Chicken Wings
With the Super Bowl Game fast approaching, I thought it appropriate to provide some great tasting recipes to serve as bodybuilding friendly alternative meals to traditional fare. For the next few days, check back on this post – as I will provide a new recipe each day leading up to the Big Game Next Sunday.
Today’s recipe is Boneless Buffalo Chicken Tenders with Blue cheese dip although you won’t find any frying here.
This super easy and quick dish is great to increase your protein intake while still enjoying the taste of hard fried wings – without all the extra fat! I substituted greek yogurt in place of salad dressing to further minimize calories while packing a high protein punch. These spicy treats are sure to be a big hit!
Boneless Buffalo Chicken Tenders with Blue Cheese Dip
Yield: 2 Servings
Ingredients:
2 ea. 5 oz. boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into strips
½ cup Frank’s Red Hot sauce
1 tsp Garlic powder
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
2 cups Greek Yogurt, fat free
1 oz Blue Cheese crumbles
6 ea. Celery stalks, trimmed and cut into thin strips
2 ea. Red Bell Peppers, cut into strips
1 ea. Large plastic bag
Method of Preparation
1. Place raw chicken strips into plastic bag and add hot sauce. Let marinade for at least 1 hour.
2. Pre heat your Foreman or electric grill to medium high heat. Heat chicken for 4 minutes each side or until chicken is fully cooked.
3. To make the dip: In a FOOD PROCESSOR combine greek yogurt and blue cheese crumbles and pulse until well combined. Cover and keep chilled until ready to use.
4. Serve chicken tenders with celery stalks, pepper strips and blue cheese dip.
